Our Favorite Podcasting Tools

If you’re an attorney considering starting a podcast, we’d like to share our favorite podcasting tools.

Microphone

A quality microphone can make a big difference in sound quality.

Haley uses this microphone and sounds great.

This microphone was also recommended to us by other podcasters.

For around $100, these are two great options.

Microphone Stand

A microphone stand is a must. It keeps our microphone steady and sound consistent. Amy uses this stand which has a heavy base. Haley prefers this stand which clips onto her desk.

Audio Interface

While you can find a microphone that simply plugs into the USB port in your computer, using an audio interface provides a clearer higher quality sound which makes editing much easier.  Amy uses this audio interface, which provides studio quality recording….right from her home office.

Headphones

Headphones allow you to better focus and clearly hear your guest or co-host.  Amy prefers these over the ear headphones while Haley prefers these in ear headphones

Zencastr

Once you have your equipment, you need to choose a program to record your podcast. Zencastr allows you to record audio and video. It’s a great program for recording with a cohost or with guests.  Zencastr has a variety of free and paid subscriptions which makes this a great tool for someone just getting started.

Buzzsprout

Buzzsprout is our podcast hosting platform of choice. We’ve been with Buzzsprout since we started our podcast and it has been very user friendly and intuitive.  Buzzsprout allows you to upload and publish your podcast to all of the major podcast platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify and many more).
