A Decade in Practice

Hi All,

In this episode we reflect back on a decade in practice. It has been an interesting road for both of us and looking back was fun, but also insightful. A big thank you to everyone that sent us questions and we hope we answered them well.

While we answered questions about our expectations before law school and then after law school, our biggest challenges, and whether we would do it all again, there are some other questions that really resonated with us.

When we were asked what advise we would have for someone graduating law school this year, we really wanted to give you some good solid answers. Haley spoke about remembering the things that make you uniquely you and those are things only you can bring to your client. Amy reminded our recent grads to keep your options open and to remember that you can always change course. People always say “you can do anything with a law degree.” Well, once you get that law degree don’t forget that you have so many options available to you.

This is also good advise for lawyers who have been thinking about leaving the law - which was another common question that was posed to us - how can I leave the law? This is a topic that we feel deserves a deeper dive, so we are planning a whole episode dedicated to this frequently asked question. If you are asking yourself this question - say it out loud! Not just in a joking way, but honestly and authentically.

We hope you have enjoyed this walk with us and we would love to hear where you are in your journey! Find us on Instagram @lawyerswholaunch.

If you enjoy our content a great way to show us some love is to subscribe, give us 5-stars, and leave us a review wherever you listen to podcasts.

Thank you! Haley & Amy
